Great image - I never discovered IR during film days, which is really unfortunate. This has such a great look!

That station was where I stopped once every six weeks when heading back out of town to my home in Canyon Lake. Nothing like a Orange Crush and a good hunk of Hill Country Jerky.

Artist's Description

Welcome to Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World! Bandera is the county seat of Bandera County in the Texas Hill Country, which is part of the Edwards Plateau. The population was 957 at the 2000 census, and according to a 2009 estimate the population had jumped up to 1,216 people. Did you know that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie visited the town while taping their reality television program, The Simple Life 2. They worked at the Bandera County Jail, and on Sunday mornings, Bandera is a popular destination for motorcyclists from San Antonio, known as the Bandera Breakfast Run.Willie Nelson has an instrumental called "Bandera" on his Red Headed Stranger record, and was once home to Texas music legend Robert Earl Keen. This photo was taken on one of those beautiful Hill Country days when the sun was warm and the air was cool.

About Greg Kopriva

Greg Kopriva

I have been a photographer for many years, it basically started when I was about 12, taking snaps around the house with a Brownie. I studied Photography at East Texas State University, now Texas A&M-Commerce, and have been working professionally ever since. My main method of earning a living is commercial photography, and I also teach a variety of age and skill levels. The images shown here reflect my love of the craft, mostly things that I do in my spare time. I shot film when we didn't have computers and Photoshop, so it's very important for me to get the best possible image out of the camera with little manipulation. I hope you enjoy this body of work, and thank you for visiting. GK **Buy Photographic Prints by Greg Kopriva,...
