Description
First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of 5th and Henderson Sts. in downtown Ft. Worth, Texas. The church began in 1874 with the completion of its first building, a one-room frame structure at Fourth and Jones Street in downtown Fort Worth. It became known as the Fourth Street Methodist Church. On the morning of October 29, 1929, the day the stock market crashed the ground was broken for our current facility. The congregation remained determined to complete the church building in 1930 as planned.
